We had a great trip out East, with two days in Halifax and a week on PEI (in PEI?). Theo got to spend lots of time with his two biggest fans, as well as Nana, whose annual visit to the island coincided with ours. He slept in big boy beds and drank out of big boy glasses, co-operated for most restaurant meals and learned about peeing in the great outdoors. A few highlights below.
Uncle Richard keeps 17 lovely white chickens in his yard. They sleep in this little coop. When Theo went to let them out of their coop in the morning, he said "Hi Chickens, I'm here today."
Boyd, the lobster fisherman (who had already put back a few by 11 am), took a shine to Theo on the wharf in Georgetown. Not only did he hoist Theo up on top of a pile of lobster traps, he put him in one, right beside the big rusty spike that the bait gets skewered onto. Thanks Boyd!
The railway museum was a hit, especially after a soother-less 45 minute car ride! Thanks to Nana for taking this pic of the three of us on the PEI Miniature Railroad.
On our last day on the island we indulged daddy in a visit to a favourite childhood spot of his - Woodleigh Replicas Gardens. The 40-acre site used to be a tourist attraction that housed replicas of castles and cathedrals from the British Isles. However, it's been for sale for more than two years and the little buildings have fallen into a charmingly creepy state of disrepair. Or is that creepily charming?
